About Marge DraperMy Client-First PhilosophyThere are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work. I have been selling real estate in the mid-Peninsula area since 1995. My husband and I have lived in the Menlo Oaks area of Menlo Park since 1975. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University and taught for 12 years before pursuing other interests not the least of which was serving on the board of the Menlo Park City School District for eight years. I was a Cub Scout leader in our son's pack and served on the committee for his Boy Scout troop. I have business experience too. It ranges from retail to performing task analyses, writing job descriptions, and designing and writing procedure manuals.
I enjoy working with both buyers and sellers, and my business is about 50/50 buyers and sellers. As a buyers' agent I am committed to doing whatever it takes to find you the ideal home. My commitment is to give you 100% effort until we find you the perfect home at the right price. As a sellers' agent I work to help you determine the best way to prepare your home for the market including how to best showcase your home, determine the best marketing strategies, recognizing the best buyer for your home, negotiation of the contract terms and finally, making sure the transaction closes in a timely fashion.
That said, in my experience as a mid-Peninsula real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.
